AoO Supplament books. What would you like to see?

Postby robert4818 » Sun Mar 11, 2012 5:34 pm

I'm a fan of splat books, provided the give me something I want. That being said, what stuff would you want from an AoO Supplament book. Here are some of my thoughts.

Organization Primers. Books that flesh out the organizations presented in the book. How they are structured, any coloroful personalities, etc. This ranges from a Pandora Primer, to the "Oblivion Handbook for new Recruits" to "Organizations of the pacific rim".

"Q"-Branch. Gear and resources book. More One-shot devices, vehicles, other spytech.

Book of Legends. This could be a good place for starting a jumping off point on much of the horror stuff. A small collection of real-world legends, myths, and superstition from around the world, and how to fit them into the AoO world. What really is a Banshee? Djinn? Effreeti? Did you know Kroeans think that sleeping in a closed room with the fan on can kill you?

I think something that gives more details about the other organizations would be great.

Agents of Pandora would be an interesting evil campaign setting book.

I really like the idea of a Book of Legends. Stories are fairly easy to come up with, but how do you tie it back into the setting? Having a Book of Legends that GMs can delve into for source material would be great, especially if you include the Spear of Destiny type tropes with conspiracies tied to them. I like the idea of the Korean old wives tale. I can imagine a special kind of imp that causes all sort of problems originating the story. One of the reasons I love Hellboy so much is Mignola's creative use of these types of ideas. It would be perfect for AoO.
