Ravaged Earth: Drops May 6th!

Postby razorwise » Thu Apr 07, 2011 10:34 am

Hello All,

We've been working on the cover mock up for Ravaged Earth lately, and it's going to have a new look and feel which we think you'll be really happy about. While you can't judge a book by its cover, we're certain you'll dig the revised materials where we've cleaned stuff up and simultaneously opened up the setting a great deal as well. While we've been calling it the Ravaged Earth Reboot internally and, heck, even on the forums, it was just a working project name and nothing we ever intended to use on its release.

When I sat down to the graphics, I paused to think about how really different Ravaged Earth is now from its inception, and I'm pleased with its development. For that matter, the entire team is. It's been a real labor of love for us all, and the gang has stepped up their game on this one enough so we're going to call it the Revised Second Edition as every one of those words is true. We've gone through our numerous printings of Ravaged Earth. There are no more. There may be a handful of the full color ones still floating around, but once they're gone, they're gone. Likewise, we'll probably be retiring the original RE PDF as well as we move forward with the new edition. While Ravaged Earth is solid, we're sure you won't do more than sniffle and not give it a second look once you grab the (everyone say it with me) Revised Second Edition.

It's currently on my desktop, awaiting my eyes. If I don't have to kick it back to the fellas, which I've been known to do (but is highly unlikely in this case), it'll move on to the rigorous editing team. Under the direction of Lyn, this baby should be tightened up even more. Everyone knowns the drill. Right?

Best,

Sean

Neither can we!

Eric's been giving his marching orders. He has a few outstanding bits to rewrite and punch up, before it moves on to the editorial staff.

Great news. Cannot tell all of you how much I am looking forward to getting my hands on this.
I've been a fan of RE since I first heard of it. Me and my group have had a lot of fun adventuring through the first edition and we plan of getting more excitement when the revised edition hits the shelves.

It's interesting for me to work so closely with this revised second edition, since it was Ravaged Earth that really brought me into Savage Worlds. I'm ridiculously excited to see this race for the proverbial finish line - a load of new content, streamlined rules for faster play, and a great pulp Plot Point Campaign that brings together everything that makes Ravaged Earth, all of this and more add up to the things that makes Savage Worlds so awesome. Can't wait for everyone to get their hands on it!

And I, for one, cannot wait to get my hands on this new edition.

Any possibility that we can get some hints, or previews, of the new material added in this edition?

We'll certainly see what we can do. Just let us get it through edits first! :)

Thought I check in and ask how this project is coming along.
As you might be able to tell, I am really, really, looking forward to getting my hands on this.
My apologies for being such a pest about this.
