Swarming with Excitement
Hello All.
Now that we've got Orwell Industries in the can for our Powers & Perils line and Sovereign Nation is well underway, I'm feeling pretty friendly and thought, what the heck, let's tell you the next great thing coming up for P&P. It's the Swarm. What is the Swarm? Well, I didn't say, I'd tell you everything. I can tell you a few things. It's in the preliminary stages. We've got a basic outline and I've got a direction I want to take this one. I'm looking at a writer that'd be new to our design studio, a local fellow, whom I've begun gaming with. His writing is solid and he's just completed his most recent work with Eden Studios. What'd he work on, you ask? Well, some stuff for the City of Heroes RPG. We think he'll fit right in, but we'll see. ;)
Developments on RunePunk are getting exciting as we're entering the final stages of the final stages. Rather than continuing to kick the tires, I'm looking at dropping the engine into this bad boy, pull out a few dents, slap on a little paint, and see how fast it will go. Hopefully, you'll come away from this with the fact I'm excited about how RunePunk is now fitting my vision and how I'm chomping at the bit to get it out there into your hands. It's dark steampunk fantasy at its finest. I had a few concerns, but after rewriting certain elements I got the same "writer's buzz" I did when working on the Agents of Oblivion stuff. Man, I love that "writer's buzz".
I'm gonna get the Player's Guide for Iron Dynasty to everyone from whom I've received NDAs this week. Top priority. (Now, if you read the other section, you'll see where I wrote, RunePunk is top priority. No, everything cannot possibly be top priority. RunePunk falls just behind the PG, because I made a firm commitment to get that out into people's hands this week and I do my best to keep my commitments. It's about when I originally planned it anyway, as I expected the NDAs to trickle in. However, I thought I'd be waiting on the playtesters instead of the other way around, but there ya go!)
Later,
Sean

Double, Double Toil and Trouble
Hello All.
If a mad lab doesn't have secret things bubbling away, what good is it anyway, right? Well, we've got several items we're definitely on the cusp of talking about, but we can't quite yet. Things have to simmer a bit more. Everyone all together now. "Fire burn, and caldron bubble."
So, while we're waiting on that, what is there to talk about? Well, like we mentioned in the dirt, Orwell Industries is moving into layout.
What else? Hmmmm...the Iron Dynasty "Rough and Ugly Player's Guide" is soon to arrive in the hands of anxious playtesters. You know who you are. :)
From the "Still working on it department": RunePunk is undergoing a bit of retooling. Hey, it happens to the best of us and the rest of us. See that section of the website for more details.
Regards,
Sean
P.S. I promise as soon as I'm at liberty to tell some of the more tantalizing details of things, I will. I'm not trying to dangle carrots here, but I've learned something that I'll share with you. Things do not always go like you plan them. This maxim is especially true in this industry which is why people are reticent about revealing all the details about their neatest project until they unequivocally see the ink drying on the contract. Even then, it's not always a sure thing. I've had issues even then. Luckily, I take the high road when I'm able, but it has definitely made me more conservative on those points that are outside of my control. The ones entirely dependent upon my judgment, I'll boldly jump out there and talk about. How funny, this postscript ended up being larger than the script proceeding it. In any case, send your good karma my way, keep your fingers crossed, and rub any rabbit feet that happen to hop your way.

Shameless Self-Promotion!
Hello All.
Orwell Industries is in final edits by Jodi Black whilst we await the luscious color illustrations of Julia Bax.
Butch Curry continues his work on Sovereign Nation and got his domain of ZombieNirvana.com without me noticing. (I intended to buy it and hold it hostage until he finished some work, but such is life! :P No really. I wouldn't do that...)
Ahem. So our first Superlink product is nearly out of the gate and I think you'll love it. You're probably wondering why we're even invading M&M Superlink to begin with. Well, it's a great system and there is room for us to contribute some nifty, creative things that all GMs can use to make their job easier and the superhero experience more fun. We hope you'll like it as much as we have working on it.
What am I doing?
Well, I'm working on one of the first adventures for Agents of Oblivion True20 in between roughing out the Iron Dynasty Players Guide and finishing up some last minute RunePunk things. (Yes, this sounds familiar, except for the AoO thing.)
I'm wheeling and dealing a bit more on some AoO stuff and look forward to entrenching myself deeply into AoO once I kick off the Iron Dynasty Playtest Group and get Orwell out of the door and get RunePunk onto someone else's desk. (Yep, that day fast approaches.)
Regards,
Sean
P.S. Since I said this is shameless, Support Reality Blurs and buy our stuff!
