The Mad Lab: Status Quo
Hello All.
We're working on maintaining our sanity, a difficult trick here in the Mad Lab, and don't have a whole lot of newness to bring to you since last Wednesday, but we're at least back on track.
Clint's reviewing the RunePunk Player's Guide, Butch continues the good work on Sovereign Nation, and I'm still tidying up RunePunk GM's Guide. Polishing up a few loose ends and keeping one keen eye on the Iron Dynasty Playtesters who like the latests changes to the Kensei and the Ronin, so that's pretty sweet.
I've also fiddled a bit with that secret project on the weekend and have begun a more earnest dialogue with John Rogers regarding the proper way to handle chases in True20 AoO. Of course, all this stuff has to wait until RunePunk is wrapped up. No. I can't wait either.
What else? I've put out an Open Call for Everyone in the Dirt this week, so check it out. We can't do this stuff all by ourselves in the amounts that you want it.
Regards,
Sean

Speaking of Creation
Hello All.
I'd be remiss if I didn't announce something I just found out today.
Preston DuBose, President of 12 to Midnight, has added on to the household with the birth of his daughter, Grace, April 18th. Yes, this is noted on their website and I called him today and congratulated him and told him I was remiss for not being more aware. I gave my reasons and he summed it up nicely by saying, "Real life got in the way." What else could I say, but "Yep?"
So congratulations to the DuBose household and here's wishing Preston gets to catch up on his sleep sometime in the near future.
Okay...on to the reason why you're here...maybe,
what's up with Reality Blurs and not updating?
Okay...I've been sick...this sounds lame and usually I post on through being sick, but I took my meager energies and directed them to working on stuff, like Iron Dynasty and RunePunk and Agents of Oblivion and reading through stuff Butch is working on and putting together some proposals for another license...oh, yeah, I'm working on a proposal for something that should turn out to be kinda interesting...
I am a bit behind on that, but intend to attend to it in the next handful of days and let you guys in on that in the next month or so...plus I've gotta gear up for Origins and GenCon and put together my adventures for RunePunk and Agents of Oblivion. I've got 'em sketched out and hope to playtest them at Fanatic Games over the next week or so.
Apologies for the lack of eloquence. RunePunk got all my poetic prose for the day and I'm already over quota. :P
Until next time, get your game on and keep it real.
Regards,
Sean

Scatterbrained...
Hello There...
Been jumping from Orwell Industries to Agents of Oblivion to Iron Dynasty and RunePunk for too long, so it's nice to be settling down to less than fifty things...
People are falling into place for various projects and I'm happily writing and coordinating many, many things.
Here's a quick punch list...
True20 Agents of Oblivion: Talking to a few interested parties about doing some conversion work of 12 to Midnight's adventures as well as one fellow about doing some work on the Bestiary for True20...the working title for that? I'm not saying yet. ;)
Iron Dynasty: The playtesters and readers are keeping me busy, telling me what I've done that's wrong and what I've done that's right. It's in the early stages, but overall I'll rank it as a very good experience for us.
RunePunk: Clint and I had a great session last week where we discussed the remaining loose ends for the Player's Guide. It's pretty close to where we want it to be and I'm looking forward to playing it with some of the local gamers here in town and starting to debut it on the convention circuit this summer.
Sovereign Nation: Work continues apace by Butch and everything is on track. It promises to be every bit as powerful as Orwell Industries.
Secret Project: Since I never have enough to do, I've begun working on a secret Savage project that I'll spring on everyone when the time is right. Sometimes, I have to fill in those hours when everyone I know is asleep and the muse speaks to me. ;)
Agents of Oblivion: Getting projects lined up for later this year and our big push next year.
Regards,
Sean
P.S. And I wonder why I'm so tired? :P

Let's see your I.D. and RunePunk Revisted
Hello All.
The Iron Dynasty Rough & Ugly Player's Guide has now made it's way into the first official playtest group we've had. We're not nervous, but excited to have ample lead time to have a proper going through by a group of dedicated gamers. Sure, there is a lot more flavour that I've yet to put into it, but I want them to focus predominately on the archetypes that I've included. The tricky part was providing them with enough context in and collating notes and details from various files I've been collecting. When I was about to send it off, I realized they needed a map as well. The Lands of the Iron Dynasty are not exactly the Japan you may know or think you know. Certainly, familiar elements exist, but we're moving it firmly into the fantastic. Don't know what a Kikai is? Boy, will you be in for a surprise!
Interesting sidenote: when I develop the map, rough and ugly though it may be at times, it roots everything firmly in my head. For some reason, getting the map for a fantasy world shifts my thinking from the abstract to the concrete. The, okay, I know where this is, sort of perspective. I've long loved maps and can put together a pretty nice one time permitting, but I'm a bit too busy at the present to much more than sketch out the concept to hand over to my artists who can pretty it all up for me.
And now that that's in their hands and Orwell Industries is out for M&M Superlink and soon SW, I'm able to give RunePunk the priority attention that I've been saying it will get. No. Seriously.
I got some more nifty stuff from Clint for RunePunk and the refinements are moving closer to where they should be. It's about time for that long promised sneak peek.
Regards,
Sean
