Iron Dynasty and The Woodwork

Hmmmmm.

Is it coincidence or synchronicity, but shortly after I get my company's FIRST product out the door, the veterans of Savage Worlds gush out stuff?

At least, I can say, I've held the the number one spot for August for SW games and am holding steady as the 5th most popular non-d20 release for the month as well (and it's only been out 2 weeks.) How cool is that? And guess what else, currently, JtRT is in the Hot Sellers of All Products (#16 at the time of this post.) The art has been receiving great comments, people like my writing, and you guys seem to appreciate a nice clean layout-I had faith that you would!

If you haven't bought it, give it a shot, will ya?

The New Releases:

There's the World Builder's Toolkit from GWG.

12 to Midnight has released Fear Effects and Brainwashed for SW.

Legion Publishing has just come out with The Hunt, a fantasy adventure converted from d20.

Wow. The Savage World is growing. Who'da thunk it?

Wound Up and Tired Out

I'm back from GenCon and am happy to have encountered a lot of good people, yet I cannot returned from a convention with the sense that I'm running behind and that I'm too tired to immediately do good work.

It's odd, because a lot of people find a convention thrilling and exciting- and they are- but also relaxing. Me? Relaxing is shooting a game of pool or chilling out reading a book. Fun and relaxing are not necessarily synomous as far as I'm concerned.

My mind is bursting with lots of ideas from exposure to lots of neat things. Ideas that I've had to jot down and set to the side for the present while I explore avenues of my projects with priorities.

As I write this, my mind feels like it's wrapped up in cotton candy cobwebs and the thinking is more muddled than it has a right to be. I should be resting, relaxing, chilling out, before I go back to the grind, so I'm going to go grab a book from the pile of those I've been too busy to pick up and curl up in my chair for awhile. If I get sleepy, I'm not even gonna push through, I'm gonna let myself fall into the hidden mysteries of dream.

Regards,

Sean

Another Manic Monday

Hello All!

I am just so excited about getting Journey to Red Temple out, I am beside myself.

I've now done the whole shebang from start to finish. Concept to convention to write-up to layout out and art selection to final approval and upload onto RPGNOW. Man, I'm tired. :)

I'd like to thank Simon for fitting me into his busy schedule.

It's our first release in just under a year and we're looking forward to building up momentum.

Getting it all together...

How's it going?

I initially was going to go with a cheesier title for this section today, but I'm not feeling that silly after all. More of a somber, serious feeling, kind of an autumnal feeling I don't typically associate with summer, but there ya go. I've got it, so I'll roll with it.

I'm glad to say that JtRT is put to bed and will be out soon. I've amended a few little typos that niggled their way to the surface after being distilled into PDF format so I'll get to redo that again before the product is released, so that'll take, what, fifteen minutes tops.

When I first set up this section- the razorwise report- I wanted to offer insights of what's going on in my head as I write and learn more about the industry, cause, let's face it, I'm figuring it out as I go and am learning bunches from very cool people that have already invented the wheel.

One of the things I've learned is doing it all is exhausting, but rewarding. I do writing, layout, art direction, editing, and the website and come up with ideas and edit and direct other writers as well (not to mention the extraneous business details of public relations, promotions, bookkeeping, et. al.). This isn't trying to blow my own horn, it's just sort of how it is, and that, if I stop to think about it too much, it could be perceived as daunting. The upside is that I have mobility to respond to things and get to set prioritization and be able to shift quickly as the circumstances dictate. The downside is that it's hard to chop down a jungle with one machete and that's what I face sometimes, so I really appreciate the support of my friends and family and the fellow gamers that provide support, insight, and sometimes chop down a tree for me or point out pitfalls to avoid. (Heh. See how I nicely tied that imagery up for you?)

Anyway...one adventure down, a billion more to go. It does feel great to finally have something done and inspires me to continue onward. Every day, I learn something of use to Reality Blurs, whether it's from a movie, a marketing book, or just sitting and thinking. I'm not slacking on other, larger works, it's just part of the plan that cannot be revealed yet. ;)

Regards,

Sean
