Iron Dynasty has just gone through its initial layout and it’s rather hefty. Currently, I’ve sent off this draft to the editors to check it out. Do we have a release date yet? Nope. Not yet. We’ve got a lot of things going on at the moment, so it’s a matter of figuring out exactly when. This was delayed due to my sicknesses. You didn’t know that, but now you do. I had already tentatively committed to get certain products out this year, so something has to give. I didn’t want to shuffle everything around. Fear not, though, I hope […]

Today, I got The Witcher 2 in the mail. It’s my first video game product to review and I’m anxiously looking forward to compiling my thoughts on the game. I’m going to break it down into initial preconceptions and thoughts on other reviews then my first hour. Then once I’ve gotten a good handle on things. So far, I can say I’m loving it, though I’ve caught a few little typos and had one lock up when I went to access the inventory (for no apparent reason). Comment regarding the controls: some folks say they are weird. They are different […]
Simmer down and gather round the campfire and I’ll tell you what I was up to today. In short, I went through Ravaged Earth again, dealing with the tweaks and amendments Eric gave me. I’m still not quite ready to cut the document. I’m trying to see if I can make it work without reducing the page count. There is a lot of good stuff in between the pages, I assure you. What else has yours truly been up to? Well, I’ve been reading some shadow documents in my spare hours and am keeping an eye on my mailbox for […]
Today, I did some layout work for Zero Sum Reports for Agents of Oblivion. Maybe you guys can get Ed to talk about those? At any rate, it took awhile to get the look and feel to integrate with the existing Agents line and a bit longer to get the organizational structure down. Now, it’s back on Ed’s virtual plate. Since so much of my time was devoured doing that and some other business matters. Let’s see, I also spoke with Eric Avedissian about the status of his Ravaged Earth review 1 and spoke with Sean Patrick Fannon about the status […]

Today, we’re going to talk about how the absence of certain elements can define a setting as much as their inclusion. You might find this something odd for me to be discussing as the setting I design are often an amalgam of other things. RunePunk has magic, miracles, and technology. Iron Dynasty has magic, miracles, and technology. For the record, they are really nothing alike. Let’s look at RunePunk. While the setting is a sprawling, post-apocalyptic fantasy with lots of races, there is only one god who is answering, Umbriel, The Lady of Twlight. By restricting the pantheon to one, […]
Our friend, Michael, of Stargazer’s World fame, is having a contest to win a copy of Iron Dynasty. This is the funniest one to date. Check it out and good luck!
Got your attention. Didn’t I? Today, I wandered from Konoyo through Shaintar and wound up in Spyland by the end of the day. WOOOSH! is the sound you hear as I hold onto my scalp as everything showers over and through me. I’ve mentioned this fact on Twitter, but I’m going to say it again. The good thing about good editors is they catch lots of stuff. The bad thing about good editors is they catch lots of stuff. My ego is oblivious to their slings and arrows of outrageous correction. I make the changes I agree with (and, sometimes, […]
