Each and every time the convention season draws near, I can think of a thousand reasons not to go, and Origins was no different. When I got back, I was absolutely exhausted and slept some deep, deep sleep. My dreams were strange, yet brought great clarity to me when I awakened. I am invigorated. I am refreshed. In a word, Origins was great. I got an opportunity to not only talk shop with veteran designers, but I got to play in some of their games as well and make new friends. In addition to running some Iron Dynasty sessions, I got to see some friends and fans over the course of the show. It doesn’t get much better than that, now does it? Today was great. I played Fiasco with Jason Morningstar and Bob Beets and his friend, Jody. Fun times! Later on, I lunched with Jamie Chambers and played his upcoming cars games and wrapped playing Fiasco with my good friends. More details next week when I am not posting from my phone! Thursday was an amazing day with a lot of fun for all. I ran a game of Iron Dynasty as did Norm. The people were great and its always a pleasure to get together with new folks and introduce them to the system. I had many new players in my game with the exception of Will (Thunderforge) from the Cincinatti area. I put together a game of Fiasco with Norm and Dave and had a blast with them as always. That’s right, boys and girls, tomorrow morning will see yours truly jetting his way to lovely downtown Columbus, Ohio for yet another exciting adventure at Origins Game Fair. I enjoy it immensely. It’s a big show, but there is a degree of intimacy not found at GenCon, and really gives me a fantastic opportunity to connect with you, our fans and loyal supporters. Getting in just under the wire,  I have finished packing for Origins. Well, maybe, I fibbed a little bit. I still have a little bookkeeping left to do. Y’know, tidy up a few character sheets here and there. Make sure certain scenarios are packed and that sort of thing. Today, I turned my attention to the first stage of my final preparations for Origins. For those of you not in the know, it’s the mighty game convention held in Columbus, Ohio next week. Today was a mixture of phone calls, writing, some reading, and layout all mixed together. In other words, very busy! Layout work was completed for the next Iron Dynasty Guidebook dropping later this week and I nearly finished with the first RunePunk Guidebook. I just need to finish writing up some statistics, and then it’s off to edits. (Shhhh! The plan is to get the first RunePunk Guidebook out very soon. *cross fingers*)  Yes. I heart my editorial staff!
