What?! June Already?!

Jun 1st, 2012 | By | Category: The Razorwise Report

Welcome to another Friday Edition of your Razorwise Report! I hope all is well for you, whether you’re huddled in front of your computer (as I currently am) or are off gaming at Origins or at your FLGS or with some buds in the comfort of your abode. I got some more writing done today. Woohoo! That’s always good. Some of it was work related. Now, you might say, “Sean, isn’t it all work related?” And, I’d have to say yes, but the words today dealt more with the business of the creative than the creative itself. As we have [...]

Done and Done and On to the Next One: An Origins Story

May 30th, 2012 | By | Category: The Razorwise Report

Tomorrow, we’ll be launching our ONE SHOT line for Agents of Oblivion. Why should the guys at Origins get all the fun, right? While they’re off doing their thing, you can get in on some sweet espionage action right away. We hope you jump in and get this off to a great start. Michael Ysker, referred to as “the New Guy”, has done some really terrific work. So terrific, in fact, we reached out to him to make his stuff official and everything. I assure you, you will NOT be disappointed. Ed Wetterman, our Agents of Oblivion line developer, is [...]

Knocking Off the Cobwebs

Jun 29th, 2011 | By | Category: The Razorwise Report

Each and every time the convention season draws near, I can think of a thousand reasons not to go, and Origins was no different. When I got back, I was absolutely exhausted and slept some deep, deep sleep. My dreams were strange, yet brought great clarity to me when I awakened. I am invigorated. I am refreshed. I needed to get away from the usual sights and sounds and out into the world. The more I reflect upon it, the more I’m truly glad I went. Things did not explode in my absence. In fact, it was as though I [...]

Once More Unto the Breach!

Jun 27th, 2011 | By | Category: The Razorwise Report

In a word, Origins was great. I got an opportunity to not only talk shop with veteran designers, but I got to play in some of their games as well and make new friends. In addition to running some Iron Dynasty sessions, I got to see some friends and fans over the course of the show. It doesn’t get much better than that, now does it? I got in late last night and am awfully tired today, so I took the day off to catch up on sleep and prepare myself for the busy week ahead. My mind is abuzz [...]

Friday, Friday

Jun 24th, 2011 | By | Category: The Razorwise Report

Today was great. I played Fiasco with Jason Morningstar and Bob Beets and his friend, Jody. Fun times! Later on, I lunched with Jamie Chambers and played his upcoming cars games and wrapped playing Fiasco with my good friends. More details next week when I am not posting from my phone! Until next times, I bid you, dear reader, adieu!

Gaming Galore!

Jun 23rd, 2011 | By | Category: The Razorwise Report

Thursday was an amazing day with a lot of fun for all. I ran a game of Iron Dynasty as did Norm. The people were great and its always a pleasure to get together with new folks and introduce them to the system. I had many new players in my game with the exception of Will (Thunderforge) from the Cincinatti area. I put together a game of Fiasco with Norm and Dave and had a blast with them as always. Lastly, Mac, Dave Mcguire ran a fun seventies adventure, A Good Day to be a Bad Guy. I’ll hold off [...]

Twas the Night Before (Origins)

Jun 21st, 2011 | By | Category: The Razorwise Report

That’s right, boys and girls, tomorrow morning will see yours truly jetting his way to lovely downtown Columbus, Ohio for yet another exciting adventure at Origins Game Fair. I enjoy it immensely. It’s a big show, but there is a degree of intimacy not found at GenCon, and really gives me a fantastic opportunity to connect with you, our fans and loyal supporters. My schedule seems to be already rapidly filling up. I’ll be getting an opportunity to try out Innsmouth Confidential as well as play in a larger variety of games than I ever have before. This trip, I’m [...]

It’s Late in the Evening…

Jun 20th, 2011 | By | Category: The Razorwise Report

Getting in just under the wire,  I have finished packing for Origins. Well, maybe, I fibbed a little bit. I still have a little bookkeeping left to do. Y’know, tidy up a few character sheets here and there. Make sure certain scenarios are packed and that sort of thing. Today, I was a man obsessed, putting the finishing touches on the Innsmouth Confidential playset I’ve had in the works for Fiasco. Don’t say I can’t keep a secret. This idea has been rattling around in my mind for some months and I cannot wait to play it, so I’m hoping [...]

Origins and Other Confessions

Jun 16th, 2011 | By | Category: The Razorwise Report

Today, I turned my attention to the first stage of my final preparations for Origins. For those of you not in the know, it’s the mighty game convention held in Columbus, Ohio next week. I feel strangely prepared–scenarios are ready and pregens are awaiting individuals to bring them to life.  I’ll have to make a confession. I hate going to cons. Now hold up, before you glower my way. Read my words carefully. I hate going to cons. Once I’m there, it’s an entirely different story. I have a good time. My network has grown and our fan base ever [...]

Reading, Writing, & Layout, Oh My!: (with an Insidious Release Schedule)

May 3rd, 2011 | By | Category: The Razorwise Report

Today was a mixture of phone calls, writing, some reading, and layout all mixed together. In other words, very busy! Layout work was completed for the next Iron Dynasty Guidebook dropping later this week and I nearly finished with the first RunePunk Guidebook. I just need to finish writing up some statistics, and then it’s off to edits. (Shhhh! The plan is to get the first RunePunk Guidebook out very soon. *cross fingers*)  Yes. I heart my editorial staff! Tomorrow, I’ll be working on the next RunePunk adventure, and I’ve already got the idea sketched out so it should come [...]
