One Flooded Friday
Last night, there came a rain. The rain cleansed the streets of Memphis, and brought in cool breezes, overcast skies, and left damp earth as a reminder of its passing. That’s not all, however. The Mad Lab was exceedingly swampy. It’s rare we get such heavy rains hereabouts, so rapidly. It rains, sure, but it’s no Seattle. And the ballasts experienced some outages, so, as it turned out, I worked in as near a dungeon environment as I ever want to. It was cold. The lights were flickering, and there was a small pond near my desk chair. The floor is concrete, and I have an immense throw rug which will be finding its way upon the curb once it has dried out enough not to way a ton.
Yet, I managed to carry on. I took care of some outstanding business items, communicated with the staff, and conducted as normal a day as one can when working beside a sudden coastline. These things happen. Sure.
Oh, did I mention, one of those business items was putting some of the finishing touches on the Ravaged Earth reboot? Well, I guess I just did. I’ll give some details on this beast next week, once I’ve dried out a little, and got the chill out of my bones.
Until next time, I bid you, dear reader, adieu!
