Missive #19: Strike on the Salvo



Welcome back Director’s, I hope your home games are doing swimmingly!

It’s time to generate our 2nd mission keeping in mind that we have introduced the Reptilian Shape shifters and the EDO/Bilderburgs and from this point forward we are going to always look for connections, though each mission does not have to be about them.

For this mission type I generated a Paramilitary Strike.  Easy, this will be a strike against the EDO.  I need to generate a main Enemy, Target or Object, and a Complication.  The Target is a military figure and I generated the location as aboard a yacht with a Regional Proximity, so I decide it will be in the Mediterranean Sea.  Complications are an extra 1d6  (3 EDO agents) reinforcements, this is on top of the 1d6 (4) soldiers the military figure already has access to.  As this is a complication, these additional reinforcements were not part of the mission planning.

The Main Enemy to be overcome is a Mystic.  So I generate an ally (Retired Agent) and add a few Edges, Skills, Perks, and Resources just to make him interesting.  I decide he is a currently non-active Pandoran now working for the Bilderburg group as a Security Agent but still with many ties to Pandora.  This could even be a tie in showing that Pandora and the Bilderburgers are working together.  Doesn’t really matter, but could prove interesting for the Agents so take it as far as you like.  So I give you a Wild Card bad guy:

Perk:  Emergency Evac (mercenary helicopter with 50 cal machine gun)

The target, a Libyan Colonel, is Aamir Kader, a recently deposed military leader under the displaced Kaddafi regime.  Col. Kader is now working for the EDO and has a personal guard of four highly trained soldiers that are very loyal to him.  The yacht is named the Salvo with an Egyptian license and is equipped with advanced computers and is a relative gold mine of data about the workings of the EDO (at least concerning all operations that Col. Kader has been in charge of).

Oblivion intelligence obtained information that Colonel Kader is a main asset for EDO and have tasked the team with boarding the yacht with the objectives of gathering information, data disks, and any possible SIGINT and if possible to take Col. Kadir alive for questioning.  The team is to go in hard and take control of the vessel.  Unknown to the Intel, Golgatha and three other EDO agents are also on board.  Golgatha’s transport met with the Salvo late last night and he came aboard to plan a future EDO mission for Col. Kader’s handlers (the Bilderburgs).  The mission they are planning is a paramilitary strike against an Oblivion Asset named Leonard Trilantes in Naples. The name of the mission is dubbed Payback. Golgatha and his three soldiers are dressed like agents in suits and ties.  Golgatha’s transport is a large oil frigate named the Macmouhl registered out of Dubai.  The Macmouhl is only a half-mile away and the emergency evac helicopter is on board along with a contingent of EDO mercenaries.

The Salvo does have a weapons locker and contains several AK-47 submachine guns and two LAW rockets.

The team needs a plan to get aboard the Salvo and a night operation may be the best.  Give them lots of leeway in planning the infiltration and extraction.   Have Golgatha call for emergency evacuation as soon as he realizes they are under attack and he will do almost anything to escape rather than be killed or captured.

Ideas for play:

  1. Give the Macmouhl a chance to use radar to Notice the team moving in on the Salvo.
  2. Good idea to give the team Emergency Evac Perk.
  3. Payback is a targeted mission against another Oblivion handler and team (to be discussed more next time).
